advice seek

Dear friendly people in freiburg, <br><br>I am going to study in a master program in economics  Germany in the coming sept.  and I wish to ask for your advice .  <br><br>I&#39;ve got offers from Konstanz U and Freiburg U.   I personally prefer Freiburg as it&#39;s  a bigger U , so it&#39;ll provide more to explore.  But I don&#39;t know the ranking of economics department between the two.  Am I right in making this choice ? <br><br>I know that finding a place to live in Freiburg is difficult . Is it better to live in dormitory or in private room ?  I&#39;ll check into the website someone has recommended here. But is there any special precaution or tips  anyone would like to offer ?<br><br>Thank you vey much for your help .

   As far as the ranking concerned, Uni Konstanz is temporaryly better than Uni Freiburg. But the most important basis of the ranking is the quantity of the published dissertations of the professors.<br>  But I do agree that Uni Freiburg has a long history and a relative complete construction. It has also a stable position in the field of economics. <br>  By the way, the international master programm in economics will just beginn in the next semester. The whole faculty attaches much importance to this project and I heard that they&#39;ll arrange your living conditions,too.

Normally there are so-called coordinators for such master program, and he(she) is assumed to help the new coming students solving such practical problems. I only know that in Informatik, this is the case. <br>We as outsider, can only provide some information, and our chinese student union in FR is also not strong enough to provide such services.

Thanks for all your suggestion , i &#39;m very grateful about that. <br><br>Is there anyone of you how they distribute the plaves in students dormitorires ? is it possible that students of interantional program ( e.g. in Economics ) be given more consideration ? <br><br>the coordinator  of the program sugested i contact the officer in charge of dormitories directly .<br><br>any more advice ? thanks again &#33;&#33;
