Editorial Internship

Purpose of the Internship:

The purpose behind the Editorial
Internship at Fair Observer is two-fold. First, to provide every intern and associate with the opportunity to grow intellectually and personally in a fun and open environment. Second, to act as a crucial pillar to a growing start-up company, contributing to the operations, content development, and creative process of each editorial desk.

Internship Responsibilities :

Editorial interns will be assigned to specific topical desks, and should
make their top preference known within their application. Topical desks are as follows:

·Arts & Culture

·Africa

·Latin America

·Middle East

·BRIC Nations

·Europe

·Economics

·Health, Science and Technology

Day to day responsibilities include:

·Assisting editorial staff and editors in research and writing

·Driving communication and content development with desk contributors

Internship Qualifications:

·Exceptional writing and analytic skills

·Proactive work-ethic, willingness and ability to work independently

·Personable, able to collaborate with many different cultures and personalities

·Relevant linguistic skills are desired

Marketing Internship

Purpose of the Internship:

The purpose behind every the Marketing Internship
at Fair Observer is two-fold. First, to provide every intern and associate with the opportunity to grow intellectually and personally in a fun and open environment. Second, to act as a crucial contributor to our marketing and public relations staff.

Internship Responsibilities :

Marketing Associates will be deeply involved in our four strategic pillars:

·public relations

·social media

·buzz

·seo/sem

Each intern will be assigned projects according to their interests and strengths within each of these pillars. If you have specific experiences or background in these pillars, please state them in your application.

Internship Qualifications:

·Knowledge and experience in at least two of the above stated pillars

·Strong verbal and written communication skills

·Able to work in a team environment and collaborate with a diverse set of cultures and personalities

·Strong interest in international affairs and media

·Creativity, passion, and flexibility are essential

Account Management Internship

Purpose of the Internship:

The purpose behind the Account Management Internship at Fair Observer is two-fold. First, to provide every intern and associate with the opportunity to grow intellectually and personally in a fun and open environment. Second, to act as a the gatekeeper and sustainer of our partnerships and alliances.

Internship Responsibilities :

The Account Management's daily responsibilities include:

·Maintaining information on our current partnerships and alliances

·Developing best practices for tracking Fair Observer's outreach to potential partners

·Acting as a service liaison to current partnerships

Internship Qualifications:

·Exceptional communication and personal skills

·Must enjoy working with a large network of diverse cultures and personalities

·Strong organizational skills

·Good understanding and interest in business partnerships

Media Production Internship

Purpose of the Internship:

The purpose behind every the Media Production Internship
at Fair Observer is two-fold. First, to provide every intern and associate with the opportunity to grow intellectually and personally in a fun and open environment. Second, to produce regular visual and audio content for our website.

Internship Responsibilities :

The Media Production Intern is responsible for partnering with our editorial and marketing staff to create video and audio content. Responsibilities are project based, but could potentially include:

·Video of editorial interviews with notable public figures and leaders in multiple fields

·Creating podcasts on editorial content

·Partnering with the marketing staff to create compelling video marketing campaigns

Internship Qualifications:

·Strong skills and experience with video and audio production

·Creative and artistic intelligence

·Curiosity and flexibility to be constantly learning and exploring

Special Events Coordinator Internship

Purpose of the Internship:

The purpose behind the Special Events Coordinator Internship at Fair Observer is two-fold. First, to provide every intern and associate with the opportunity to grow intellectually and personally in a fun and open environment. Second, to assist in the planning and developing of fundraisers and other special events for Fair Observer.

Internship Responsibilities :

The Special Events Coordinator will work with our marketing and funding team to create weekly and monthly events including:

·Fundraisers

·Happy Hours

·Conferences

In addition, the coordinator will focus on developing and planning our company launch in early fall.

Internship Qualifications:
